We did it!
Thank you from everyone at the Institute of Imagination to all of our friends and supporters who donated or shared our campaign, as part of the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2017. We successfully reached our target, which means through match funding, we are able to access an incredible £38,317 of funding for the Imagination Lab in 2018.
We are hugely thankful to our Project Champion, The Childhood Trust, and our pledgers who enabled us to double donations made between 28 November and 5 December.
An action-packed year
2017 has been an activity-packed year for the Institute of Imagination. We opened the Imagination Lab in February and since then we’ve engaged with over 17,000 individuals through our events and activities at the Lab and beyond. We’ve sparked the imaginations of thousands of young minds through workshops, activities, schools sessions and more, working across science, technology, engineering and the arts. The Imagination Lab has provided much needed access to forward-thinking concepts, expert partners and innovative products from coding and virtual reality to 3D design and animation.
2018 at the Imagination Lab
As we look towards 2018, this vital funding for the Imagination Lab will help us to achieve our goal to engage with even more people – 30,000 across the year.
We will be announcing the first of our events, workshops, camps and clubs in the new year and we’re excited to continue to grow our Lambeth Community Programme, giving free access to the Lab for local residents, ensuring the Lab is a resource for the Lambeth community.
We will continue to run and grow our interactive and hands-on workshops and events for children across London and beyond and to deliver our Lab Learn sessions for London schools, working closely with teachers and parents to ensure that imaginative learning continues between the Lab, school and home.
Thank you to all of our supporters – we can’t wait to spark many more imaginations in 2018!
