This autumn, the Imagination Lab will provide a community programme for Lambeth residents

The Institute of Imagination’s Imagination Lab, in Lambeth, has been generously supported by the Rangoonwala Foundation to provide a community programme for Lambeth residents. All the workshops and events are free for Lambeth residents.

Our Imagination Lab is located at the Workshop on Lambeth High Street: a space where children and families can explore and discover new technologies and experiment in arts and science workshops. We will be offering a variety of different activities and workshops, from Tinker Clubs to training. You can find out more information about the different activities below. Community workshops: supporting local families in Lambeth

We will run a dedicated, themed community workshop exclusively for local residents in Lambeth. We hope these workshops will strengthen and build community cohesion particularly for those living in the immediate vicinity of the Imagination Lab.

The workshops will offer a range of activities for families, offering access to innovative technologies, which are prohibitively expensive in school or at home, such as micro computing, augmented reality and 3D printing. This will help children and parents or carers to develop new skills and an understanding of future technologies, as well as softer skills such as independent thinking and confidence for the future.

Dates
Friday 17 and Saturday 18 November
Friday 8 and Saturday 9 December
Friday 9 and Saturday 10 February

Lab Learn: Bridging the gap between the classroom and home

Our Lab Learn programme will welcome Lambeth primary schools to the Imagination Lab, offering opportunities to bring creativity and imagination into everyday learning. We will provide tools for teachers that will help them to continue with this approach once back in the classroom.

At the end of the school day, we will invite parents to join us for a show and tell session. Here they will be encouraged to carry on activities at home, bridging the creative learning gap between school and home.
